A GUIDE ON THE INSTALLATION OF PS3 EMULATOR FOR ANDROID
Greetings all my fellow gaming addiction readers, thank you so much for all the feedback from my previous article, PS2 Emulator for Android.
I have received some responses from friends and readers alike asking if I was going to write an article on PS3. Are you crazy? Why would I not? Here you go.
Is there an Emulator for PS3 for Android
Of course, as long as there is a popular demand, developers will jump right in either to quench the desire of community as well as their own or simply just to earn some money out of it. Regardless of the reason, there are many emulators for PS3 out there without a doubt.
Though, before we begin, I have some bad news for a specific group of readers. If you are reading this article, hoping there is a way to play your super high-end graphic game on your smartphones, I am sorry, the smartphone industry has not evolved to that stage yet.
As I have mentioned in the other article, even a PS2 processor has processing power relatively stronger than any smartphone you can find on the market now. Even the most recent and expensive smartphones with the highest hardware spec are barely comparable to a PS2.
So it is safe to assume that a PS3’s processing power is a couple of notches, if not 10 or 20 notches, above whatever mobile device you are carrying right now.
The gist is that you would not be able to install high-profile games like Uncharted 3, Assassin’s Creed IV, or Witcher 3. Your mobile devices will explode so hard that you will be put down as a suspect of terrorism in the database of the FBI, CIA, or whoever it is that handles homeland security stuff.
Also, the graphics quality might not be what you expect.
If all of the issues mentioned above do not seem to bother, you read on for information on playing PS3 games (certain ones only) on your mobile devices.
Installation of PS3 emulator
Out of all emulators I have used thus far, PS3 Emulator APK is one of those which I felt compelled to share. It was developed by PSGamers and comparable with Android 4.0 or higher.
Minimum requirements of your Android device
Do not despair if your phone does not meet the requirements specified below as long as some lagging every now and then does not grind your gears.
- At least 500MB available storage is needed
- To run the emulator smoothly, make sure your device has a 3GB ram or above. (There are ways to increase RAM on your table or even smart phone, but that is a topic for another time)
- I do not mean to badmouth hardware manufacturer, but I would recommend Android devices with hardware coming from Qualcomm Snapdragon’s caliber or above.
Now that we have covered most of the basic information which some readers might not have known yet let’s move on the installing them.
First a foremost, download PS3 Emulator Apk on your Android device
Assuming that your Android device is not rooted and is running on the default setting, remember to enable the apps by going to settings, develop options, and install apps from unknown sources.
Activate Apk file once the download has completed
Follow any instruction and message prompted by the installation process of the apps (i.e., allowing access, etc)
Launch the apps.
Notes on the PS3 Emulators
One of many shortfalls of being a free application is that you cannot simply look up the game you would like to play, click install, and enjoy. The process is a tiny bit more laborious than that.
Look up the IOS file type of the games you want to play and download them.
Afterward, launch them via your emulator by locating the IOS file in the emulator’s directory. As long as you have downloaded the correct file type, it should be reasonably easy to locate them.
To ensure maximum smoothness, remember to close all apps currently opened on your mobile devices before launching your game.

Honor mentions of other PS3 Emulators for Android
PS3 Emulators is a cross-platform emulator. It is relatively simple to install and play. The only negative thing is that it might not be compatible with the mobile device you are having regardless of the spec you got.
New PS3 Emulator
Rumour has it that it could run games with high graphics quality which are generally believed to be impossible with current smartphone technology. Although, it does say that mobile device with the best hardware is needed to run them.
Regardless I still remain slightly skeptical about a mobile device running a high-end PS3 games properly. At least I am not aware of any mobile device with a processor on par with a PS3 officially announced on the market yet.
Phew, that should be enough to cover most questions pertain to PS3 Emulator for Android devices.
There are still so many emulators made by countless developers out there, and listing them would most likely turn this lighthearted article into a Thesis on the computer and mobile technology.
So I will leave you to your research if you want more information on other alternatives, but most of them should typically work based on the same principle. So this article should suffice in giving you a general picture on what to expect should you decide to continue searching for more emulators.
